2004  Shiraz
Gold Medal Mudgee Wine Show 2006 (4 1/2 stars James Halliday)

This wine starts with an ink purple colour with red hues. Dripping down the sides of the glass are indigo and a deep violet tone. The aroma is quite a dense blend of ripe plums, sweet blackberries and savory black olives, with an underlying aniseed spice that is so typical of Mudgee Shiraz. The palate shows plums and black olives with hints of mocha and earthiness. The oak has played a minor part in flavour, providing vanilla and chocolate. Whilst consuming young will provide pleasure, feel free to indulge in cellaring for 10 years to develop its complexity.

"Good hue though faintly hazy; an abundance of well structured black fruits, with nuances of liquorice and earth; good tannins and length to the finish."
